Mr. Dong Li, Founder and Chairman of Leoch Battery International, spoke to Debbie Mason from Batteries International magazine about the rise and prospects of Leoch Battery and the way ahead for the industry.
Batteries International magazine has been serving the energy storage and battery industry for over 25 years and has a well-deserved reputation as being an authoritative source on all aspects of the industry.
Mr. Dong Li gave an in-depth interview to Debbie Mason, about his involvement with the battery industry and his early professional years in the textile industry. He also referred to some aspects of his personal life as well as the daily lives of the Chinese people in the years before the beginning of the economic growth in the 1990s.
“We plan to become a battery company with two arms. Our lead arm will always be bigger, but we do have a plan to open a factory in Anhui province to make 4GW of lithium batteries a year for three applications: telecoms, data centres and networks; starter batteries and motorcycles; and motive, slow-speed EVs and traction applications,” said Mr. Dong Li.
